All great stuff! I think black Christmas is particularly interesting because it seems so socially progressive for the time it was made. For example there's a major plot point about the main character having an abortion that probably wouldn't even make it into a script nowadays.

The big three from the 30s are HP Lovecraft, Robert E Howard, and Clark Ashton Smith. For fun, try a short Howard story, like "The Tower of the Elephant." That's a personal favorite.
