Getting back into kino, I started my reread of Berserk. I read it before in English, but stopped when they got to the ghost ship, which apparently is common? It's interesting seeing the early characterization of Guts as edgy action hero man knowing how the writing evolves once the Golden Arc begins.

I then randomly decided to read Kou iu no ga ii. Turns out it's an ecchi rom com where the couple are more than sex friends, less than lovers? Honestly, the writing's cringey, but the quirky gamer girl heroine uses a lot of strange slang that I've never heard before so at least that's interesting.

The manga I read next was One Piece, which I've read before in English. My plan is to read volume one of every manga I'm interested in, then volume two, and so on. I'm probably not gonna finish any particular manga for a few years, but I think there's something kinda neat about that idea, idk.

The first manga I decided to read in this year's quest to become a bonafide manga enjoyer was Yotsuba&!, from the same guy behind Azumanga Daioh. Very charming, w/ some excellent, wholesome comedy. The manga lives and dies via Yotsuba's interactions w/ the other characters and doesn't disappoint.

I've decided this year I'm gonna be a manga guy. Good way to learn more Japanese, which I've been slacking on. Also, I'm bored of no social media, so I'm just gonna make a post on here for each volume of whatever I read. I legit got like 100 of these things on the list so it's gonna take a while.

can't decide if they are knowingly trying to reduce US influence abroad or if they're just so averse to academic language that they can't read between the lines of the program titles. are they confused that they don't see programs titled like "spies" & "bribes" & so on lol
It's so extremely wild to see that in less than 3 months Elon single-handedly is shredding decades of work the CIA did to build economic soft-power bases throughout Africa and Asia.
