https://inaturalist.nz/observations/212840866 A photo of an adult male monarch butterfly, orange and black with white spots, sitting on the stem of a kahikatea tree (a NZ native conifer). We found this an many more monarchs beginning to overwinter in the trees along the side of Thorington School.
