“Why this is Bad for Democrats, actually”

I talked to so many Democratic voters for downballot candiates. It broke my heart that they couldn’t see a reason to vote for Harris. So disappointing.

LOL. Yesterday I noticed that @booksaremagic.bsky.social had a big ol’ stack of those bad hardbacks. I wondered if they had sold a single one.

And misogyny. Two hate tastes that hate great together.

Also the fact that some people consider “drawing attention” and being “famous” to actually be their *entire* job. The tedious work-doing is for lower-paid, drab, probably unintelligent, definitely unworthy, interchangeable hirelings.

Agree that it’s horrible but I’ve been wondering if we get a posthumous AI Trump.

“Upskill beyond their curriculum” is the key bit. Institutions that are training need to harshly revamp their curricula And training programs.

Most analysts, pundits, academics, and terminally on-line Bluesky posters are high-info voters, who likely have somewhat stable policy view bc they think nonstop abt the issue. It's why they do what they do!

But most voters? ARE NOT THAT WAY.

Which means a survey is measuring SOMETHING ELSE.

As a NY10 constituent: no. No to all of that. Looking forward to having Brad Lander represent me instead of Goldman.

I mean, I think that’s true. They are trying to kill the tourist industry. They’re nihilistic, xenophobic vandals and enjoy destroying things. They have no concept of secondary consequences. Or even primary ones, really.

Oh 100%. My younger child went to @bardcollege.bsky.social. They have an unusual registration system, and she got 0 of her first-choice classes. She ended up taking Indian history, and yada yada yada now she is in India on a Fulbright, toiling in the archives, learning Hindi & Gujurati.

I was a liberal arts major who got an MBA and 100% finance math is not hard. What is hard about finance is keeping your head when a lot of dollars are flying around.

A while back, Google did some research on what made a good hire, and there are only three factors: can you do the job now (test), can you do the job without excessive supervision / with integrity (college proxy), and can you learn and grow into the job as it changes (college demand & performance).

In part because the category “Hispanic” is a false American construct. People of Latin American origin think they are Honduran, Cuban, Mexican, or whatever, and they also think those people from *other* Latin American countries are the real garbage who need to be deported.
