All roads lead to maps and mapping for me just now - which makes me very happy! - and this latest issue of Imago Mundi looks excellent. It focuses on Indigenous maps and mapping, with many/most articles open access.

Rights of Nature laws shift Nature from object to subject-but turning ideals into impact depends on legal detail. Ecuador’s bold vision, NZ’s guardianship model: both inspire, but face challenges. Curious how principle meets practice? Read our intern's blog on RoN in action 🌿

Welcome! It caught my eye as relevant to some current work and although I've read through once but it deserves, and will get, re-reading. The Places Journal is a favourite, always excellent and open access. 🙏

Yale researchers didn't stop there. They also identified what people most need to know to catalyze action and support climate policy; and it's not about global temps, ice sheets, or ocean currents.

What people most need to know about climate change is that (1) others care, and (2) there is hope.
Understanding six “key truths” about climate change predicts policy support, discussion, and political advocacy
Social norms and collective efficacy are strong predictors

I've had a similar experience - needing to spend quite a lot of time on PC document management: organising, version control, navigating to saved documents. I was really behind the times as I didn't realise that basic computing was no longer taught as standard in senior schools.

We're so grateful to Sak for his work with @britishlibrary.bsky.social playbills - not only does blplaybills.org make them findable online, but we learn from his experiments!

As much as people worry about a rise in ai misinformation which people should, I actually wouldn't be surprised if also we see a rise in misinformation based specifically on trust of non-ai sources. Scammers often use tools not for efficiency, but for their psychological filtering effect
