I've been organising all my old sketchbooks as I move everything up home and it's amazing to look back on so many years. At some point the fear of loosening up just leaves you and your art just goes up a level. It's why I love seeing other artists sketchbooks and see what they're about

He looks like the substitute primary school teacher who ends up in tears before the end of the day

I never played Nintendo beyond Pokémon red yellow and gold, but I have a sega collection on 360 and all I play is Spindash and Mean Bean Machine 😂

Ongoing music hot takes - Hot Dog by Limp Bizkit has an amazing guitar riff that I want as an instrumental to strut to as I walk. Especially as I've been told I have a strut.

Musical hot take but The Kids Aren't Alright is one of the Offspring's more boringest songs? Especially compared to their self titled album and stuff on Smash and Splinter that no Spotify playlist ever has

Omg I love that game! Do you remember when stick figure flash games were big? Why was there never a remake with more 3D elements?
clarkbintart.bsky.social
Didn't mention this before but I don't think in today's world this can happen again, and creators shouldn't work with people who make them uncomfortable. I just like Jungian shadow shit

I've always been of the opinion that the political differences between Ditko and Lee is what has made early Spidey so nuanced - imagine the writers room discussions. Lightning in a bottle. Two differently working minds that created a teenager reluctantly growing up (maybe before he was ready)
danmcdaid.bsky.social
It's true, Ditko's Peter Parker is a bitter, sneaky little nerd, who would otherwise have been a lock to become a serial killer... If his confident, compassionate alter ego hadn't saved him.

It mostly likely wasn't that simple but I love the early comics where Peter hears Flash Gordon has been kidnapped, is like "GOOD!", then like, "what am I saying?" It's the powers-wrestler-fuckup-hero journey echoing through his life forever

The first 40 issues of Amazing Spider-Man read like an extended villain origin story. It felt like Pete could break bad at several points.

They should just leave the talk bubbles blank and let people create their own stories.

Making comics is a deeply personal art form and it's fine to make entire graphic novels you never intend to publish.

Also Robert Crumb and Mobius are forever the goats of comics. Their work is weird, visceral and honest on a level few will ever be ready for.

Comics should have animated bits in the white spaces so we know how one panel gets to another. Shocking that they're basically still just still-frames and no sound?

Anyone have a particularly hot comic take?

Drew a face today which is possibly one of my best expressions to suit the dialogue coming out of the character. But it's a spoiler page and I can't show it

On a digital doodle roll, baby. Did I ever mention on here the impact Transformers One had on me? Michael Bay grabbed my attention as a straight nerdy teen who had never seen a Peterbilt turn into a robot on the highway before, but One grabbed me as a queer adult. Who/what/why are Transformers????
