Definitely could be. The owls in that area have a lot of competition From other raptors. It’s located in lowland farm country by an estuary and Puget Sound, so there are oodles of overwintering raptors.

Here is the full version by Heather Dale, with fabulous sign language interpretation. I do prefer Dawn’s richer, edgier voice, which my phone does not do justice. youtu.be/8pLb7CrOXHM?...

They were all beating up on the eagles and harriers. It’s interesting - I’ve been going there for six years and have never seen them this feisty before.

Omg I read this and what was anyone thinking proposing this hypothesis? I’m only a grower, not an scientist, and I can tell you three reasons why this was not even worth researching. I’m glad there was a bit of scorch in the rebuttal.

2/2 The owls were all going after eagles, with this look that said, “And now I shall curse thee, giant thug.”

The eagles here harass all the other birds to steal prey, so oh well. 🪶

Yup. My department just got the mandate from the Exec because “that’s what he heard on the campaign trail” (from real estate lobbyists?). 64 drop-in desks, 40 computer monitors, and 1000 people that are supposed to be there 2x a week. Apparently math isn’t their strong point.
