The Trump admin is planning to say that being from Cuba (or any other travel ban country) is a "significant negative factor" that could lead to a denial of any of several discretionary immigration benefits (like green cards).

Seriously; national origin discrimination as official government policy.

New incredible detail here: ICE says a match in its facial recognition app Mobile Fortify is a "definitive" determination of a person's status, and that this overrides birth certificates. This is an app ICE is using in the field to scan people

BREAKING: The full Ninth Circuit vacates last week’s 2-1 order granting DOJ a stay of the district court’s TRO in the case over Trump’s National Guard effort in Oregon. The court will rehear DOJ’s stay request w an 11-judge panel.

Today’s order means Judge Immergut’s TRO remains in effect for now.

This video brought tears to my eyes. There is no justification for this behavior.
I was back at 26 Federal Plaza today, where an ICE agent violently threw this bereft woman to the ground in front of her kids. She had not touched him. She did not pose any threat. She had to be taken to the hospital. (🎥: Elias Eliahu)

Poignant opinion by Judge Wilkinson in the Fourth Circuit.
🚨NEW: 4th Circuit unanimously rejects Trump request to halt proceedings in Mr. Abrego Garcia's case.

Reagan appointee Wilkinson writes that the Trump admin's position is "shocking not only to judges, but to the intuitive sense of liberty that Americans ... still hold dear."

This is literally DEI.
Here's one of the many clarifying passages in the White House (notionally GSA) letter. It demands Harvard set up a system of political commissars who will enforce hiring and admissions set asides for MAGA luminaries and high school red hats.

Just making up the rules as they along, despite the fact that there already rules in place about this.
New justification for not returning Abrego Garcia just dropped, in a declaration from an ICE official: designating MS-13 as a terrorist org overrides the immigration court order barring his removal

It's the latest in several shifting arguments for why the govt cannot and will not try to return him

More use of “tech” to enforce the whims of government. Not all that different from the strategy used in the recent SEVIS terminations. Forget about the law, just “delete”.
Breaking News: The Trump administration moved to cancel lawfully obtained Social Security numbers in an effort to pressure immigrants to “self deport” by cutting people off from using crucial financial services like bank accounts and credit cards, along with their access to government benefits.

I made this point earlier about the birthright citizenship EO. By adopting the Heritage Foundation's maximalist position to also include children born to those here on nonimmigrant visas, they sabotaged the possibility some more NewsMax-pilled judges might buy some kind of "invasion" argument.
By choosing the broadest, least constitutional bases for several of his initial executive orders, Trump seems to be daring the courts to block them.

Musk’s use of the word “delete” is so disrespectful, flippant, and smug.
