Q: There's compelling proof that antifa did infiltrate on January 6 dressed up like Trump supporters and incited violence. Is that something you'd like the new J6 committee to look at?

TRUMP: Well I've heard that. Yeah. We will be acting on some of that.

"The folks at the White House were very disappointed that the entrance into L.A. in June didn't provoke more violence....What they didn't have was the thing that they wanted, like they saw in Portland in 2020, which were protests that did grow unruly and out of control."

White House officials have held increasingly serious discussions in recent days about President Donald Trump invoking the Insurrection Act, a rarely used 19th century law that gives the president the power to deploy active-duty troops inside the U.S. for law enforcement purposes
Trump administration officials seriously discussing invoking Insurrection Act, sources say
A decision is not expected to be imminent, one source said, but debate within the administration has shifted recently to more deeply exploring how and when the act might be invoked.

The elimination of USAID is a moral atrocity and all involved made a choice to enable, and then lie about, ending the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in the world.
MAE SOT, Thailand (AP) - Mohammed Taher clutched the lifeless body of his 2-year-old son and wept. Ever since his family's food rations stopped arriving at their internment camp in Myanmar in April, the father had watched helplessly as his once-vibrant baby boy weakened, suffering from diarrhea and begging for food.
On May 21, exactly two weeks after Taher's little boy died, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio sat before Congress and declared: "No one has died" because of his government's decision to gut its foreign aid program. Rubio also insisted: "No children are dying on my watch."
That, Taher says, "is a lie."

Personal context on this. I was working for a conservative magazine at the time. I was in the internal discussions where they talked themselves into accepting Trumps “very fine people” thing on Charlottesville.

This was not inevitable. It was a choice. I watched people choose it.

One reason former Republicans have been better at opposing Trump than many progressives is because they correctly understand that the GOP’s descent into fascism represents a dramatic shift, and is therefore scarier, where the latter groups feel the need to argue it’s just a continuation of trend

Is it any wonder Americans have become so disgusted with elites and insiders?

They have the thinnest skins in the country, and they truly believe they speak for people whose perspectives they cannot even begin to fathom.

Cancelled, for them, is essentially "being criticized."
