I guess there's nobody she can really punch up at anymore so maybe it's not fine that she writes diss tracks anymore.

Or perhaps it's all just conflated to encourage more column inches and sales.

Oh! Well maybe Actually Romantic isn't about Charli XCX either?

What's the comprehension/reading issue on the album? I've listened to it many times in the last few days but I've not spotted a problem....

I don't think its necessarily a blind spot - I think a lot of people recognise we need system change not individual behaviour change, so until meat is as expensive as it should be, alternatives are good, and food education comprehensive, people are going to eat what the like.

Global temperatures so far this year are still the 2nd warmest on record when comparing with each prior January-August period. However, a ranking of #3 is most probable by the end of 2025.

Data provided by NOAAGlobalTemp v6.0.0 (www.ncei.noaa.gov/products/lan...).
A line graph shows the time series of global mean surface temperature anomalies for each January-August from 1850 through 2025. There is a long-term increasing trend and large year-to-year variability. The mean surface temperature anomaly in January-August 2025 was 1.17°C globally. Anomalies are computed relative to a 1901-2000 climate baseline. All data is from NOAA/NESDIS/NCEI NOAAGlobalTemp v6.0.0 on this graphic.

So no dilly-dallying!

The funders are getting better - data and code is required to be deposited in a national repository for grant funded work at least (BGS have been reminding me of this today)

Everything about this is fucking adorable.

NERC: We need to open up environmental science! Why is it not diverse?

Also NERC: We're scrapping Independent Research Fellowships, New Investigator Grants, Small Grants, are limiting applications from institutions based on past success rates and will only allow you to submit your proposal once.

I think it's people who think audiobooks are somehow "cheating" and allow people to read more books than they have time/effort for. Which is weird.
