On the canal in Foleshill and Longford I saw a kingfisher, a fox and evidence of otters - and too much litter that looks awful and endangers wildlife. As Minister for Nature I will protect and preserve the blue and green wildlife corridors at the heart of our cities.

Great to be out on Coventry Canal with Mary Creagh MP, and the Canal & Rivers Trust staff and volunteers this morning. We were lucky enough to spot a kingfisher and a sleeping fox.
Setting off on the Coventry Canal this morning to look for the wild birds and animals living alongside us in Foleshill & Longford.

Canals helped build Coventry and now connect people with nature. Thanks to Canal and River Trust’s brilliant staff & local volunteers for letting me skipper the barge!
