The play is to collapse the US and replace it with a technofascist feudal state. They own the courts and politicians of both parties. The way out of this is not going to be easy and the US as we've known it probably won't survive either way (which will be a relief, temporarily, for West Asia)

If Musk doesn't end his evening in a squad car, Wisconsin is just announcing that sufficiently wealthy & connected people get to publicly announce they're committing crimes, and the state will be too afraid to do anything about it. Criminal law is for the poor.
