Slowly the red fades into black and white and the threads return to their usual red and blue. The Oracle looks despondently at his bloodied hands. Someone reaches out to clasp their hands over the backs of his. "...not knowing whether this is the beginning..." An older woman we don't recognize kisses the back of the Oracle's bloody hand, and by the second panel is gone. The Oracle looks out beyond a bunch of red strings, looking even more upset at a shadow of a woman facing away from him. "...or the end. I want... No... ... I need to save you."

After my dad died I’d skip class, grades dropped, detentions stacked, etc. I still drew but I didn’t care about anything. The principal called me into her office one day, figured I messed up again, but she just handed me a box of colored pencils and said “happy birthday”. NEVER forgot that.
