While there’s many DS games I loved, there’s one that hit hardest, from near the end of its life
I remember vividly that it came out during a week long power outage due to an ice storm, because I had to carefully plan my play time around when the generator was on to recharge my DS

The entire endgame of XS3 has a a series of plot points that just COULD NOT be done properly in a condensed “you have one game to wrap this up” way. You just can’t have Shion betray the party in one cutscene then change her mind in the next and get any emotional depth from it.
