This is extremely enlightening
It offers us encouragement
And an important lesson

New in PN: Lessons from a Red Scare

"As Emma Goldman hoped, and Louis Post later demonstrated, the American people are capable of turning the tide against repression — even if that effort feels hopeless in the moment."

Stan Fox: Damn these glasses son.
Navin R. Johnson: Yes, sir.

Navin R. Johnson: I damn thee.

- “The Jerk” (1979)
A photo of Steve Martin as Navin R. Johnson from the 1979 film, “The Jerk,” wearing eyeglasses affixed to a device that keeps them from slipping down the bridge of the nose. In the film, the device made its wearers go cross-eyed and the character eventually became penniless after a successful class action lawsuit.

Disney/ABC put Kimmel back on air. Sinclair & Nexstar are blocking him. These are state-licensed stations funded by ads, not Disney. Pressure advertisers, file FCC complaints, and push back on corporate censorship.
#FreeSpeech
#NoKings
#Kimmel
Heads up: Disney/ABC put Jimmy Kimmel back on the air, but many viewers still can’t see him. Why? Because Sinclair and Nexstar, which own a huge number of local ABC affiliates, are blocking his return.

Sinclair is demanding an apology and even a donation. Nexstar says it “wants assurances.” These are not private streaming choices. These are state-licensed stations that depend on local ad dollars, and they are using their gatekeeping power for political leverage.

👉 What you can do:
	1.	Check your local station. See if it is owned by Sinclair or Nexstar.
	2.	Watch the ads. Write down which brands are keeping these stations afloat.
	3.	Pressure advertisers. Let them know their dollars are funding censorship.
	4.	File a complaint with the FCC. These stations are supposed to serve the public interest, not political agendas.

Remember: Disney does not control your local affiliate. Sinclair and Nexstar do. Advertisers are what keep them alive.

This is not just about one late-night host. It is about whether powerful corporations can silence national programming for political reasons.

So, let me get this straight: Grenell accuses Ms. Williams of assuming that Republicans might act hatefully at this show; then he goes out and specifically invites some haters to attend the performance, wear MAGA hats, and do their thing? What an insane thing for an adult to do.

Beware fascism's most effective cheerleaders: Those who screech constantly that the battle is lost and action is hopeless.

Their cowardly panic is a virus that aims to infect others with the same demoralizing terror.

Shun them, shame them, block them—mercilessly.

“Each of you, for himself, by himself and on his own responsibility, must speak. And it is a solemn and weighty responsibility, and not lightly to be flung aside at the bullying of pulpit, press, government, or the empty catch-phrases of politicians.”

Don’t you dare call us fascists, they say, as they force people off the airwaves for criticizing them while vowing to crush and criminalize their opposition.
