Check Out this fantastic opportunity to hear artists Gregg Deal and Shepard Fairey speak in Denver. Gregg is always an insightful speaker, how cool to have the two in conversation.

On rare occasions I get to feel slightly smarter (maybe more informed) than Hank Green. I'm sure tomorrow I'll return to the status quo.
The "mean" in "Greenwich Mean Time" actually means "mean" (like, average). I did not know this!

To calculate GMT they took the position of the sun throughout the year and averaged it out to find the average solar noon in Greenwich and based the time on that!

Westword just dropped a fantastic review of Kent Monkman: History is Painted by the Victors. Also the Santa Fe New Mexican has called it and The Life and Art of Tokio Ueyama two shows worth making the six hour trek from Santa Fe for.

Both open to the public at Denver Art Museum tomorrow April 20.

Kent Monkman’s work does something special. When spending time with it you find it subverting convention or engaging with unacknowledged truths in a way that is revelatory. The work seduces you with beauty and humor to reframe what you thought you knew about history, art, and indigenous people. 1/3

We know that Kilmar Abrego Garcia was wrongly removed from this country. But don't forget that 230+ other people were disappeared to El Salvador without due process. Do any of these men deserve such a harsh fate? Now the administration is considering the same for citizens.

Watching today's Type Ashton video, it's frustrating to realize that DEN's goal of expanding Peña Blvd rather than transit may have to do more with parking $ than what's good for the city/travelers. I'm not sure precise numbers for DEN, but on average ~30% of US airport revenue comes from parking.

Progress is possible, progress is happening, we just have to keep going.
It can feel like we have made no progress in the fight against climate change.

That's not the case.

Although the jobs are wide-ranging, there is a common thread in what the state’s federal workers are feeling: chaos.
As job cuts for Colorado's federal workers roll across the state, some share their stories

I've had friends talk about my 1 mile ride to work like it's something so dangerous they'd never consider it. That's a problem if that's the perception.
"Cycling is not a practical daily travel option for most people."

In 2022, 26% of car trips in the UK were shorter than 1 mile, and 71% were under 5 miles.

A 5-mile bike ride takes around 30 minutes.

Provide people with the option to cycle and build more safe infrastructure

Just received this photo from a friend of a warehouse in Kinshasa. These are tuberculosis medications--ALREADY PAID FOR--that aren't being distributed due to the Trump Administration's stop work order.
TB treatment is being interrupted in SO many patients around the world. What does that mean? (1/2)

Have no doubt, if funding isn't reinstated soon people are going to die as a result of this decision, there will be increased transmission of HIV. It's inhumane to unilaterally end someone's treatment, it is simply cruel to do so immediately and with no notice.
