As was true with the translators I heard from in an earlier edition, copywriters never felt that they were being replaced because the AI's work was better. It was almost always worse. It was simply cheaper and faster, and deemed "good enough" by clients.

the plot of the novel feels much more natural

over tightening the plot and trimming so much of the daily life stuff makes all the characters feel like utilitarian devices to move the plot forward rather than actually characters

like of course the anime should spend half an episode on the Morettis having dinner. but the novel gives you a much better sense of what Benson and Melissa are like
