I really, really wish the US bishops were much more aggressive on this issue. The fact that any Catholic thinks they can support this in good conscience is a blot on our whole national church.

I can’t stop thinking about Barbara Kingsolver's novel "Demon Copperhead." Few books of late have burrowed into my head and made me feel seen like this one did. I listened to the audiobook (highly recommend) but if I’d read it on the page, every single line would’ve been highlighted. (1/13)
