A healthy democracy has: checks & balances to power, media of all stripes to criticize & scrutinize, a bi-cameral system to regulate legislation & ensure all decisions are ratified an agreed, all to ensure that power is not concentrated in the hands of a single individual. The US has none of these.

Well 2026 is nearly upon us and with it our annual chance to commemorate and reflect upon 'Vienna' being kept off No 1 spot by Joe Dolce's 'Shaddup You Face', something akin to a war crime in Western circles. Lest we forget.

I slipped and fell backwards whilst going into our tiny downstairs toilet the other day. Dismayed to find out that my entire right arse cheek is now a massive, angry purple bruise.
