I can’t get the face of this autistic woman out of my mind.

She was driving through an area where ICE was active when they forcibly removed her from her car. She was on her way to a brain injury clinic appointment. She screamed as they carried her away that she was autistic and had a brain injury.

Most everyone knows about the story of Anne Frank.

Not enough know about Harriet Jacobs.

She was an enslaved woman who hid in a crawlspace in her grandmother's attic for 7 YEARS to avoid further sexual abuse.

She didn't run bc she couldn't leave her children who she watched through a tiny hole.

The value of reading history is you know that in 1860 there were abolitionists who were so demoralized that they thought chattel slavery would be permanent. 5 years later those still alive had lived to see its end.

And I think the journey to feeling sexy as a woman is a liberating one because it almost feels like it is an acceptance of yourself as a sexual, whole being worthy of pleasure. Releasing the societal shackles that say to OWN your beauty & not let men define it is evil & to desire pleasure is sinful

In America, you have 15 months to establish visitation and prove maintenance of contact with your children before the state forfeits your parental rights.

Many women cannot sustain this due to involuntary transfers, lack of funds, no legal representation.
