Republicans have introduced a bill to abolish OSHA.

As a former labor secretary, I know firsthand how crucial this agency is to protecting workers from bosses who cut corners on safety to pad their own pockets.

This is the party of corporate greed, not the party of workers.

The irony is that new IRS agents were hired specifically to audit high income earners - NOT like "YOU," but like ELON. He uses regular people as a shield to protect himself and his pals from clawing back what we lose to tax cheats. Elon's fans are useful idiots as he consolidates wealth for himself.

Trump and the GOP are trying to repeal a Biden admin rule that requires lead water pipes to be replaced.

Tens of millions of people, including children, would continue to have contaminated drinking water if the rules are revoked.

So the GOP is the party of lead poisoning now?

It's a tax that will disproportionately impact lower income households/ individuals.

Additionally, businesses with connections or money to spend on lobbyists might be able to get exempted, but the fairness and transparency of that process have not been great in the past.
Reminder that a tariff is a tax.

Trump is raising your taxes.

Some news: A few hours after I filed the draft to this story, CNN laid me off.

As part of a massive restructuring/changes across the network, my role as climate writer was among the 200 that got cut last week.

It’s disappointing, but I’ll be okay. My last day is on Feb 21. A thread.🧵 1/
Trump’s executive order took aim at “environmental justice” — eliminating positions and assessing spending on projects, including those aimed at poor, rural communities.

I talked to former WH environmental justice advisers to the Biden administration on what this means. www.cnn.com/2025/01/26/c...
