Made a simpler, 4x8 layout using Menard's track

I forgot I could add roofs to the buildings :3
But yeah, really liking this
I can see myself adding some smaller hills in some of the empty space to creature natural dividers between the sections, and between the station parking lot and the freight yard across from it

Made a version using Atlas' O scale track, too
(with some extra adjustments to the town section)
Honestly thinking I may go with Atlas track, for the more realistic look, and (apparently) quieter running

I won't be getting more track until next year anyway (this set is my final superfluous purchase for the year), so I've got time to think hard about my layout plan...

A good idea of how I want it to sit in the basement, while keeping (and extending) the existing old wall we have

Messing around with other ideas for the O scale layout :3
This one adds 6" onto one end, to make an even 2' gap around the sides once it's in place in the basement (with my current plan to keep one of the walls as a nice divider/shelf space)
Also ditches some switches and adds a crossing :3

I feel bad for the number of those paint-covered Thomas models that are gonna have their body shells tossed because people just want the face to swap onto a normal body shell >w<
And I can't blame them - the way the paint is laid out looks worse than the Trackmaster version of the same engine

The item can't be returned but was marked as "New in box" despite Thomas having a corroded battery and the tape being opened
Everything else was in great condition, though (and the trees I ordered also showed up), so I'm planning on trying to just get some money back
No sense returning the rest
