If you're wondering why so many of my generation ended up with the eyes and ears and minds that we did it's because we could watch stuff like this on schools programme. This is simply astounding.

Not a problem. It's a great little City, has its own independent identity as it's a bit at the end of the line.

Have fun whatever you get up too. And a train or a drive up to Scarborough could be another day out if you're around for a while.

And Hornsea and Spurn and the coast isn't that far if you're driving, lovely (disappearing) landscape.

Hope some of that helps!

And of course The Adelphi is worth checking out as a grass-roots spot with local and touring bands:

www.theadelphi.com

All these sort of within walking distance of each other. Princes Avenue/Newland would be a taxi to/from the centre of town of an evening.

If you're in the town centre evenings-wise, Hitchcocks for food in the Old Town is great, even for meat eaters. A little hidden gem with a different themed menu each night.

I need to re-take my citizenship, it's been a few years since i lived there.

I Stayed in the Premier Inn last time i was over on the River Hull bank which is good for the centre and Fruit Market area.

Standing in a puddle in Portballintrae before the storm.

A memorial to the Girona, Spanish Armada ship wrecked with only 9 survivors.

Vaguely remember it on bank notes here.
