The Government has promised to increase Defence Forces strength to 11.500 by 2028. Not only is that a pipe dream, briefing documents for the Minister state it will only reach current establishment strength (9,500) by 2031! And ONLY if recruitment rates increase from 140 a year to 400 a year.
