An Apparition. Slide from my collection, 1975.
Color image of a shorthaired white cat sitting in a window, peering placidly from between lace curtains. The window is bright with sunlight, making the curtains glow but backlighting the cat so that its face is shadowy and mysterious. This would have been a lovely composition on its own but accentuating the otherworldliness of the scene is a houseplant with long, seaweed-like leaves that undulate across the foreground, one of them arching up to frame the cat perfectly.

I feel like I understand my cats' inner lives perfectly when I project human emotions onto their expressions and vocalizations, and absolutely do not understand them at all when I try to dissect their behaviour.

Caturday catdigan catch-up!

Really got hit hard with second-sleeve syndrome on this one. The main sweater is finally finished, now just need to cut it down the middle to turn it into a cardigan 🫢🫣. Maybe I'll set this aside until the new year...
