It’s very weird being an adult and knowing that your father is emotionally abusive. What’s even weirder is realizing that you’ve been the “golden child” and trying to reconcile that with how he treats your mother. I can’t hate my father but I wish I could.

I would absolutely move to a commune of black women. But only if it’s trans-inclusive because I don’t believe in women only spaces that exclude trans women. Certain male identifying femmes could be there too but they have to be vetted first lol.

I swear by making tiny replacements. Swap out one juice for a glass of water or one pastry for applesauce etc. it’s a lot easier when the changes are gradual. It feels less like a deficit.

This is such a perfect and succinct explanation. I have had countless conversations in which I’ve tried to raise the alarm on something and the response has been “I’m not really understanding how that could happen” or “that wouldn’t really happen.”
