Good article, thanks for sharing it. Re model collapse, obviously the experts must understand what a threat that is, and the training data has limits, so they *must* be working on mitigation techniques. I would really like to hear what those might be.

The article makes a good case here for Carney's approach. I'm not qualified to evaluate all the pros and cons, and the argument seems to rest on some big assumptions. My big fear though, is it rewards this behaviour of separatist noisemaking to get results; the "two solitides" negotiation tactic.

Gottq give credit here to Max Fawcett forcthe term "strategic ambiguity". This column makes a pretty good case for Carney's approach here. But it's still based on some big assumptions about that ambiguity he wields.
