A non-binary person has come to Canada as a refugee from the US, and they have some thoughts, both about Canada, and about the US. I truly feel for them, and hope they are granted asylum given all that is going on in the US against anyone who is not cis white.

ICE may not be defunded, but a vote to increase its budget can be fought against, and requirements for unmasking, visible badges, no unmarked cars, adherence to due process and the rule of law, judicial warrant requirements, severe limits on use of force, and more, can be fought for.
FYI: Dems in the senate can't defund ICE. ICE is funded by the Big Ugly Bill. Shutting down DHS on this vote wouldn't touch ICE, but it would shut down FEMA, TSA, Coast Guard, etc. Shutting down ICE requires taking back Congress in the midterms. Dismantling DHS requires the White House in 2028.

When you hear him say it himself, you think, "This is absolute nonsense," but it's normal for him, so you just mentally dismiss it. But when you hear someone else dub over his words, it really hits home that, "Jesus christ, this isn't just nonsense, it's babbling sewer effluvium."

Trump seems to believe that the mere act of being born in America confers upon him undeserved credit for everything America has done as if he had anything to do with any of it. He has so few actual accomplishments in his life and is so pathetically desperate for approbation that he'll claim others.
It really is amazing to listen to a guy who faked bone spurs to avoid serving in the military denigrate combat veterans of our allies while also using “we” when referencing the historical sacrifices and bravery of our own soldiers.
