THEY WERE ASSUMING I WAS A LEO AND WERE ABOUT TO LEAD ME INTO COMMITTING A FELONY. I stopped and informed them that they were supposed to take my firearm and check it and that I had no legal reason or desire to have it in the cabin with me.

Without asking any questions at all, they proceeded to escort me to the security checkpoint WHILE I WAS STILL CARRYING THE CASE WITH THE GUN IN IT. I found this odd and asked what they were doing. They said that they were going to make sure security lets me through.

Also reminded of an incident last year. I often travel with a gun and there are very specific rules for doing so. Following them, I informed the folks at bag check that I was transporting a firearm.
