What is most egregious is the view that conflict is about your team winning as opposed to any universal good. Kirk via what was poured into him, was not someone who in revealed preferences worked focused on that good. 3/4

Kirk was murdered, as have a growing list of people in this decade. He was a part of what created this vibe, he was pulled into it, and we are all in some way a part of it. Continuing this pattern, just feeds into exactly what I found to be most egregious about figures like Kirk.

Kirk and MAGA as a whole does not exist without "enemies" and consciously or not, that framing will lead to political violence. Kirk's death is already being used to vindicate a worldview he himself was caught up into and fed. The answer is not to follow him in that regard.

Political violence is the politics of enemies, and the politics of enemies is antithetical to democracy. No one looking at Kirk's murder objectively is unaware of the ironies present in the event. But slipping into his same political framework he himself was captured by is a bad response.

it's been 90 days and I see zero deals, hamas hasn't released the hostages, the war in Ukraine is still going on. Trump can't negotiate and anyone who thought he could were fools.
