A study confirms what we have long argued: the spectacular Atlantic 'cold blob' is the result of a slowing of the Atlantic overturning circulation #AMOC, which transports warm waters into that region. That's the only part of Earth that resisted #globalwarming. 🌊

The Atlantic's chilling secret: A century of data reveals ocean current collapse
A century-old mystery of a stubborn cold patch in the North Atlantic is finally being unraveled. A new study links this anomaly to a long-term weakening of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulat...

Next time Starmer and Reeves say there's too much regulation, remember this.
This is what a deregulated economy looks like, and we all pay for it, with our health, our ecosystems and, eventually - when the massive clean-up / land abandonment bill can no longer be avoided - our wallets.
A gobsmacking story. Water companies let toxic waste disposers, for cash, dump their loads into sewage farms. The sewage sludge is then spread, untested, on farmland, potentially poisoning vast areas, entire ecosystems and the people (you and me) eating the food.

What’s in the millions of tonnes of sludge sprayed on to farmland? The answer won’t make you happy | George Monbiot
Thanks to breathtaking negligence, the liquid fertiliser used to help grow our food bubbles with a lethal cocktail of toxins, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

Inspired by this illuminating chart, I made one based on Irish data as well. The correlation (and let's be real, causation) between gas prices and electricity prices cannot be clearer.

A razor-sharp climate reality op-ed by Karen Ciesielski, precisely skewering the pathetic greenwashing of so many business leaders.

Destroying the planet to save it — what could possibly go wrong?
Environmentalists, unlike business advocates, can see too clearly how the world works and are willing to call it out

Harmful man-made chemicals pervade our environment and our bodies. This is the third great global environmental issue after climate and biodiversity. The EU has not delivered on promises to protect EU citizens. Until now.

Renewable energy only fights climate change when it displaces energy created through burning coal, oil and gas.

Increased energy demand in Ireland is almost entirely driven by data centres, so even though there are more renewables coal, oil and gas are still being burnt to meet increased demand.
Electrification is Ireland’s missing climate link
Electrification is the bridge between Ireland’s renewable energy potential and its climate commitments
