No. I spent plenty of time in the south and the last time I saw a Confederate flag out in the open it was hanging in a window in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Racists in the northeast are not better or less racist.

I often think how much "whats the matter with kansas" and the dumb Vance booked busted political journalism in this country, and then the dumb profiles of shitty writers published by failsons reminds me that it has always been broken.

At random i think of Madison Cawthorn, and while he was a toady to MAGA 1.0, he also was cut loose rather quickly by that power structure when he was naive enough to think that more people would want the creeps exposed.

The thing about populism is that sometimes there are true believers in that pile that the cynics don't think are true believers and it blows up in your face.

I think people would be wise to read up on the 1850s and the 1920s as a portent for what this country looks like with feckless oppositional leadership and gird themselves for what comes next.

I genuinely believe that Agile development methodologies, which are designed to primarily release A product so that devs can maintain their spot as God's in the tech hierarchy, instead of releasing the RIGHT product for all potential stakeholders, is at the core of a lot of these issues.
i think about this way too much - how tech companies act vs. “legacy” companies that produce consumer goods, news, media or entertainment.

This is a salient point, but I also think we should stop recommending ways for the GOP to fix their strategies on main. Let them implode.
If I was a GOP strategist, I’d be pretty worried about diluting my safe +15 districts into a bunch of +5 gerrymandered districts after tonight.
