Macron remarks are notable- some quotes: "We have been incredibly naive in entrusting our democratic space to social networks that are controlled either by large American entrepreneurs or large Chinese companies, whose interests are not at all the survival or proper functioning of our democracies."

Apple Takes Down ICE Tracking Apps in response to Trump Pressure Campaign in yet another attack on #freespeech. I’m deeply disappointed to see yet another corporation cave without resisting. This censorship is particularly problematic given its App Store monopoly.

Amid threats to EU sovereignty & digital regulation, what was the EU ambassador to the US’ message to #BigTech? “We love you” & “We will continue to love you” & Europe has more Google search users than we have citizens. No mention of its illegal monopoly, censorial threats against trade & DST. #fail

This proposal should be blocked by the FCC, if it ever does materialize. Its approval will only lead to further erosion of antitrust laws, freedom of the press, and dangerously shrink media plurality and diversity in America.

The oligarchs are consolidating all of the legacy media. This would leave David Ellison, son of Oracle founder Larry Ellison, in control of CBS News and CNN. On top of that, 2 major studios in Paramount and Warner Bros. This is a hostile takeover of the information space.

The process for issuing these subpoenas was so irregular, the prosecutor for El Chapo declined to sign them after expressing grave concerns.

Alt text:
"Excerpt from an article titled 'Subpoena Strategy.' It explains that Brett Shumate, the new head of DOJ’s civil division, signed a subpoena shortly after being sworn in on June 11. Normally, Amanda Liskamm, former director of the consumer protection branch, would have signed it, but she had resigned in May. Before leaving, Liskamm declined to sign subpoenas targeting children’s hospitals, citing concerns about collecting children’s health data and questioning the necessity for the investigation. Liskamm and her deputy, who both resigned the same day, warned DOJ leaders that pursuing doctors prescribing gender-related treatments like puberty blockers was unlikely to result in successful prosecution."
