Today's historic pic: Three NSW 44 class diesels with 4401 and 4480 (at the far end), sit at Dubbo, NSW, January 25 1986. 100 of these were built between 1957 and 1967. Based on FA units and branded by Alco as the 'World' model, similar locos were built for SA, Greece, Spain, Argentina and Pakistan.

Introduced in 1982, they still run today but with new trains now onshore will likely be replaced in the near to mid term

My fun new head canon is that the TARDIS can't load the bump map for the wall on the right cause its saving RAM. Probably running short of processing power since Barbara added 'Gin & Tonic' as an option on the Food Machine or something.

The UK Supreme Court has unanimously decided that the definition of sex under the Equality Act 2010 refers solely to biological sex, and does not include people with a Gender Recognition Certificate.

The tram, now 109 years old, still runs along this section of track today as a Ballarat Tramway Museum regular. She has been running in Ballarat for almost 95 years.

Today’s historic pic: Ballarat tram no 26 runs a BTPS trip in Wendouree Pde, Ballarat, Vic, December 29 1989. Built by Duncan & Fraser in 1916 as Hawthorn Tramways Trust no 5, in 1920 it became Melbourne M class no 111 until 1931 when it came to Ballarat and ran as no 26 until closure in 1971.
