The first 5 minutes of conversation in the first movie are about labor exploitation and indentured servitude. The lower deckers demand their better-paid crewmen pony up or they'll go on strike. This labor action is swiftly crushed when an officer threatens them with share forfeiture.

Even if some man managed to break into the conference room to cry out "No, it's a lie. Broken penis hurts", those in charge know they can laugh it off as some kind of radical extremist detached from reality. After all, whoever they were, they don't even believe in penis bending, the lunatic.

I think the best way I can think of to explain to a man how it feels when the people in charge know nothing, not even the basics about you.

These tensions and seeming contradictions are the juice, at least to a reader like me.

I want this gendered thing, but I don't want the gender associations. How do I navigate this in a way that honors my gender journey? How do I deal with a world that keeps seeing all pregnant ppl as women?

So far I've only heard of that happening in Burbank, CA. A few more cities may have to follow suit before the effect of furloughed Air Traffic Controllers really hits people, though I agree it's already bad

I think Democrats quickly sound a lot less vague and a lot more compelling when they fight for all the people of a particular area, as opposed to appealing to the national neoliberal concept of order -- one that many people have learned will sell them out when convenient
