If any other elder millennials need something to watch while they do food prep for the holiday, G1 Transformers is on multiple free with ads services. Not that it is healing to hear Frank Walker‘s Megatron again. Or anything.

I’m writing one post I can just repost any time I feel like I have to comment on the current US administration:
These people are such whiny, boring, incurious, petty, unimaginative, pathetic little leaky bags of hot dog water and are incapable of being cool, correct, or worth your time.

Good morning, comfy sweaters of Bluesky!
Today’s kindness upgrade is some money to the Plymouth Rock protesters. We got this!

Gimme a Rian Johnson Muppet movie. I basically don't care about the details beyond that.
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

If I found out you asked an LLM anything about me or made a decision related to me using it at all, I will not be one of your loved ones again until you fix some things about yourself.

~Making Things Log for the week of 24-Nov-25~
Writing: The draft continues. The holiday times are always weird for writing, and the end of our certification class was also a confounding factor, but I'm finding a balance between keeping at it and allowing myself time to rest.

Good morning, well-honed self-care routines of Bluesky!
Today's kindness upgrade is more money to the food bank, and taking care to protect our energy as I do some meds changes and we both wrangle with the autumn mood slide. Your existence is valid. <3

There can be only one, Charlie Brown.
The line must be drawn here, Charlie Brown, this far NO FURTHER
I am not left-handed, Charlie Brown.

This list seems about right to me; TLJ would go higher but I think the sequel series owes too much to the originals to feel OK ranking them higher — or maybe that is just the part where I had fewer responsibilities and less understandings of the world when I saw the originals, could be that.
haven’t seen ROS or Solo but this seems like a pretty ball-knowing list from Pritzker, particularly if he volunteered the name “Star Wars” rather than “A New Hope”

The mental health check in thread is here for the week of 24-Nov! If you want to talk about how you're doing, post downthread and at least one person will read it. I know this week is a doozy for a lot of us, so do please feel free to share, it is for you, too. I'll start!

Good morning, well-timed sunbeams of Bluesky!
Today's kindness upgrade is some community time at Queer Book Club, complete with supporting our local queer-owned co-op cafe. You deserve nice things!

The creature in the early going of Sea of Stars that says “mountains’re nice” and ”this is the life” on endless loop is a reference to identical dialogue in Chrono Trigger, but unlike in CT repeatedly bugging them will not get you a stat-boosting item.
i was going through my X archives and found this by @superpodsaga.com, which I qrt'd at some point years ago

so, let me bring the question back: what is the most useless piece of video game knowledge you know?

Look I’ve been really busy and most of my company is also on BlueSky so it’s sort of a vicious circle.
Twitter accounts are based in Russia. BlueSky accounts are based in homes with, frankly, too many books, plants, obsolete cables, and pieces of rustic pottery, that could do with a bit of a tidying up, to be honest.

Remember as you gear up for family gatherings this week, if anyone asks “are you still doing that writing thing?” you ARE entitled to challenge them to single combat.

One year my late aunt responded to my offer to make garlic mashed potatoes by asking in the group email thread “is anybody but you going to want those?” I didn’t answer and made them anyway because I wanted them, and that was the first of my big steps toward un-enmeshing and re-parenting myself.
Actually in the spirit of this conversation, what’s a decision you made about a past Thanksgiving holiday that really paid off? I think people often feel trapped by their lives. Sharing our experiences can liberate us from that sense of claustrophobia.
On the most recent episode of VIBE CHECK, we answer listener questions about Thanksgiving, most importantly “do you go celebrate with the family members you don’t even like?”

Some days you pick up your locally raised non-genocidal-harvest-festival turkey, buy some books at the brewery book fair next door, and having a writing date at the same brewery because COVID wastewater levels are finally Very Low.
Or at least some days I do.

Good morning, triple-good-mornings of Bluesky!
Today's kindness upgrade is a little money to the food bank again and shutting down Gmail's AI scraping functions even if it inconveniences me a little, because we don't truck with IP thieves. Stay good and have fantastic weekends!
