Excited to share our new work in @Science Translational Med! A collaborative effort exploring RNAi for silencing HBV antigens and rebalancing immunity in chronic hepatitis B.
I hope you enjoy it! and we’re always open to discuss perspectives! :)

Happy to share our latest review "Targeting HBV with RNA interference: Paths to cure"| Science Translational Medicine www.science.org/doi/10.1126/... written together with @cristianbeccaria.bsky.social, Lena Allweiss, Julie Lucifora, John Tavis, Adam Gehring and Maura Dandri
Targeting HBV with RNA interference: Paths to cure
RNA-targeting therapies hold promise for contributing to HBV cure regimens, but challenges remain before that promise can be realized.

11/ Kudos to @valentinavenzin.bsky.social‬, @cristianbeccaria.bsky.social, all members of the @iannaconelab.bsky.social&collaborators for charting this intrahepatic circuit. Expect Kupffer cell licensing and IL 27 to enter conversations on cancer immunotherapy, vaccines and beyond. Thoughts welcome!

This is so awesome! Science’s Breakthrough of the Year, Lenacapavir, an injectable drug that prevents HIV infection for 6 months, shows up to 100% efficacy in trials. A game-changer in PrEP, powered by basic research on HIV. Next... ensuring access worldwide!

One year under Milei, Argentina’s science faces collapse. Budget cuts, brain drain, and ideological censorship are dismantling a system that once thrived despite challenges. Researchers are leaving, projects are halted... Its so so sad

If an #H5N1 pandemic starts tomorrow or in three months, there will be little mystery as to how it happened. The conditions are all there. They have been for a while.
So in some ways the more interesting question to me at the moment is: Why aren’t we in a pandemic yet?
Story here, 🧵 to come:
🧪#IDSky
Why hasn’t the bird flu pandemic started?
Some scientists examining mutations found in H5N1 viruses fear major outbreak is imminent but others says pathogen remains unpredictable

Science is key to tackling global challenges, yet there's still a gap between researchers and policymakers in addressing issues like pandemics, climate change, and health crises
Science could solve some of the world’s biggest problems. Why aren’t governments using it?
A Nature global survey finds that most specialists are unhappy with systems to provide science advice to policymakers.

Hi Rod! Thank you for putting together this amazing collective of immunologists! Would it be possible to be included in the next one? Thanks so much!

I’m convinced we can accelerate our underst of the nature that governs the immune system and its interactions with the enviroment by col. across disciplines and embracing diverse perspectives. I’m always open to discussions and collaborations!, love working with people from all over the world! 😃 ❤️

#Bcells were my first love, and after 12 years, I’m still captivated by #GerminalCenters, incredible complex microstructures where extraordinary evolutionary processes shape our ability to identify and control what could harm us, all while adapting to an ever-changing world
