Documenting how terrible the pedestrian experience is in Downtown Seattle, due to the drivers.
This asshole ride share driver was fully blocking the crosswalk during the walk phase (pic taken on the other side). When I pointed that out to them I got a smile and a thumbs up. Not acceptable, asshole.

Cars are an amazing example of an invention that the more they are used the worse our world is for everyone, including the drivers. Please, get them out of our cities. They do not belong here. @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social

This large truck is empty and they still mount a bike on the back? We need to tax the absolute shit out of these stupid things in our cities.

This lady rolls through a red light to stop in the crosswalk, just oblivious. Then she waves sorry like that makes her anti-social and dangerous behavior ok. If you do this you are a bad person.

Did a car write this?
I say "almost no one," because we can't forget that well-connected people were emphatically making the case that "The zesty, bustling jumble of vendors, pedestrians, slow moving cars and delivery vehicles is what makes the Market unique and genuine."

You love to read it: “People who haven’t been to the Market since the car cutoff should give it a try. Shoppers no longer have to constantly hop around to avoid cars…Walking on the cobbles feels like a neighborhood experience, not an I-might-get-clipped-by-a-bumper gamble. It just feels friendlier.”

Confirmed with Sound Transit that this morning's test of four minute headways was a success.

The agency has never operated that many trains through the downtown tunnel at once before.
Next Friday, June 13, Sound Transit will test out how 4 minute peak Link service will operate once the 2 Line opens next year, by running a single-car train in between active trains between Lynnwood and Stadium Stations from 5am to 9am. Riders won't be able to board the test trains.

I almost died today. I had a ped walk signal and someone went through the red on the curb lane without slowing down. A pedestrian who had started walking right as they got the signal would have been hit and seriously injured. WA CPB357 needs to lose their license. They are going to kill someone

This corporate driver gave zero space and could easily have clipped somebody. @terminix.bsky.social

I'm in this picture and I like it.

I hope Greenways does more of this, so many motivated and passionate people who aren't quite sure how to direct their energy.
115 people — including so many new faces!
6 workshops led by phenomenal presenters on organizing, advocacy, street design, government, tactical urbanism, and business outreach!
What a great day. Thanks for coming to the first ever @sngreenways.bsky.social Organizing Symposium. You can make change!

Washington's first-in-the-nation shared streets bill, allowing local governments to lower speed limits to 10 mph on specific streets where vehicle traffic must yield to pedestrian, bike, and scooter traffic, is now law.

This cab almost hit me the other day on 5th. Slow down. 1sec PDIs are useless. @councilmember-amr.bsky.social

This cop did not need to block the cross walk but they did. They had plenty of room to move forward. Just inconsiderate. @seattlepd.bsky.social, do better

Absolute crush load on the 1-line on an early Saturday evening. I saw folks not able to board at Westlake.
Partially for Kendrick Lamar and SZA I'd guess.

This guy came barrelling into the intersection and could have killed my entire family if his reactions had been slightly different. Leading Ped is not enough. We need scramble crossings everywhere downtown. @alexis4seattle.bsky.social @typewriteralley.bsky.social @bruceforseattle.bsky.social

Another every day example of drivers being disrespectful, illegal, and dangerous. Stop blocking the cross walk!

This is a great example of a 'Crosswalk Creeper'. Did you know on a one-way street like this one that the driver must wait for all drivers to exit the roadway?
