There's something utterly exhausting about people who can't sense any moral or political difference between a critique of power and whining about their mentions. If you are complaining about "tankies" you are almost certainly doing the latter.
As someone who more or less agrees with a lot of left-liberal criticism of actually existing socialist foreign policy thinking in the US, I still find it silly that people on here like to pretend that Brett McGurk or Anthony Blinken have less influence than glup shitto who canvasses for PSL

actually I think reducing it to "Rich guy abuses teen girls" is part of the problem, since this is a story about transnational geopolitics not some lone predator
The thing is, the big conspiracies are false. Oswald shot JFK. We landed on the moon. Trump lost in 2020. But conspiracies like "Rich guy abuses teen girls" are not so much conspiracies as reasonably likely events that should be taken seriously.
I'm convinced one of the reasons epstein was able to coast for so long is that for many sensible people including and especially educated liberals, viewing the world through a conspiratorial lens was always seen as vaguely distasteful and rube-coded
