Again, I tap my sign that says, "All police misconduct fines should be drawn from pension funds or union dues and that would go a long way to ending police misconduct."

No one every talks about moral hazard around police not having to pay their own misconduct fines.
also worth noting that the amount the city allocates annually *just to settle misconduct lawsuits caused by police* is larger than the annual funding received by whole departments and actually useful programs
If the verdict is upheld, it would be equivalent to more than 60% of Chicago's annual $82 million budget to cover the cost of police misconduct lawsuits, spotlighting the risk the city faces by taking police misconduct cases to trial.
