My improv diary (talkin' to myself and making notes). Content strategy and franchise management, but no work stuff mentioned. Gardening. Pets. Gratitude. Improv. I still think MAGAts are f*tards, but won't mention it (much).

Happy to say my acct has been verified with the symbol : 🎉

It verifies you as a shitposter, and/or just validates you in general...the way your parents never did.

This feels like the root, to me. Private power has exceeded the state.

SCOTUS paid for. Musk's DOGE eliminating competition and forging his own contracts. Crypto bribing the prez. Rich people running for the Senate in states they don't live. TechBros. burdening resources.

"The liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerated the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than the democratic state itself. That in its essence is fascism: ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or any controlling private power." Pres Roosevelt

Advertising refers (referred? I'm old) to it as 'effective frequency.' The number of times ppl need to hear a message (or name of person they met at a party) before it sticks. Using multiple channels can lower (improve) the effective frequency
bryangarner.bsky.social
My advertising background says: Frequency, not reach, is a greater predictor of success.

My worldview understands voters as inherently social beings, driven by unconscious cues, whose opinions, beliefs, and behaviors are formulated within relationships and dominant discourse. Repeated refrains of friends, family, & trusted messengers, as well as voters’ identities, hold greatest sway.

My fave JP thing is that he told the world about a dream where he played with grandma's pubic hair and then was treated like a guru/prophet. Bold.

This is the guy who told the world about his dream of playing with grandmother's public hair, right? Surprising to hear that he isn't good at life. Hope things work out.

Jordan Peterson has been hospitalized with
-mold infection from not cleaning his room
-CIRS, which gives you mood swings and emotional disregulation and bouts of mania

I... Literally cannot believe this
'We're not entirely sure what's going on': Jordan Peterson taken down by moldy room, daughter raises possibility of 'spiritual attack'
It's a crying shame.

"When it [comes] to having to use violence, then you're playing their game. The establishment will irritate you–pull your beard, flick your face–to make you fight. Once they’ve got you violent, then they know how to handle you. The only thing they don’t know how to handle is non-violence and humor."

It’s the Feds making Portland look like a war zone— not the protesters.

And honestly, these protesters are brilliant. They’re flipping the whole authoritarian cosplay on its ass!

More likely framing is to remove "hopelessly", or change "people" to leaders. Then it's pretty accurate.

Their guards consider them animals. Giving religious solace is admitting they are not.

I have served at Monstrance Services.

Ignore that you may not believe in The Presence.

Being with that many people who DO believe is powerful.

Trust me, that being among them in the out of doors is to still be in the sacral space; they carry a cathedral with their Faith, moving mountains.

What Fr Dowling is doing here was not just "offering communion to detainees". A full on Eucharistic Procession is a really fucking big deal. In Catholic theological framing, those folks were the honor guard with the very great privilege of escorting Jesus himself to the detention center.

Notice they brought their own cameraman to document it? Masked dude squats to get her pic while face down.

Their captors lose credibility if they admit the captives are faithful Christians and not animals.

A group of hundreds of faith in coalition who started at a Maywood church just arrived at the detention center for a eucharistic procession.

They want to offer communion to detainees inside, but won't be able to get past the barricades and fence on Beach Street.
