SUPPORT NEEDED!
Central Saanich will be discussing their Speed Regulation Bylaw (pub-centralsaanich.escribemeetings.com/filestream.a...) on Wednesday. If adopted, speed limits on some key roads will be reduced to 30 & 40 kmh. Including 30 on the new sharrow on Wallace Dr between W.Saanich & Stellys

Central Saanich is working on finalizing the Speed Regulation Bylaw, wherein (if approved) they’d be reducing speed limits to 40 & 30 on select roads based on road use & design.

Let’s show them there’s support for this from the community b/c we know there is! www.centralsaanich.ca/connectwithc...

Put together a little advocacy video pointing out the flaws in an MUP detour in Sidney, BC. Lots of sarcasm throughout.

One positive outcome from this was that the advocacy brought the community together and a clear message was sent that people are paying attention and there is a desire for safe biking infrastructure in #CSaan

Paint isn't infrastructure and def isn't safe system protection for #vulnerableroadusers. Calling these bike lanes is upselling "new bike lanes connecting Brentwood Bay and Saanichton — a top priority in the municipality’s Active Transportation Plan, said #CSaan Mayor Ryan Windsor" #RoadSafety #yyj

A disappoint for many in CS

Never forget, a 13-year study found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for all road users.

ALL ROAD USERS.

And painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all. For sharrows, it’s actually safer to NOT have them.
