Jordyn Pagán, wife of Reds closer Emilio Pagán, bought an inflatable cockroach after Molly Lux, Gavin’s wife, heard Jeff Brantley call the Reds cockroaches because they just kept surviving in the playoff race. Kids are going to get these and the wives are making t-shirts too

I really miss early-2000s blog culture. Funny how many of those people I’ve stumbled across in real life

The Reds/Dodgers series will be on ESPN, with Hey Jon Sciambi and Doug Glanville on the call

Reds fall 4-2 to Brewers. If the Marlins get 3 more outs against the Mets without allowing 4 runs, Reds go to LA. If the Mets come back, Reds go home.

Reds down to their final 3 outs, trail 4-2. Make that 2 outs. Mets down to their final 3 outs, as they're still in the bottom of the 8th in Miami

My friend Jacob just texted me this: Last time the Reds scored 6 in an inning - 8/15. We lost to the Brewers that day

The fact Spencer Horwitz doesn't use this as his walkup song, but instead uses something from Mariah Carey... (Yes, I know, Horovitz vs. Horwitz, but close enough!)

Reds sweep a 4-game series for the Cubs and are now tied with the Mets for the third wild card, but hold the tiebreaker, meaning if the season ended today (it doesn't), they'd make the playoffs. The Cubs hadn't lost 4 in a row all season, much less get swept in 4. Oh, and Brewers win the division

The Mets were 21 games over .500 in June. Is it possible they could now miss the playoffs?

They've already lost today. The Reds are winning.

If the Reds hang on, those teams would be tied but the Reds hold the tiebreaker

So...

Yep , the Reds would be the last wild card if the season ended today

Mets lose, a Reds win would put them in the Wild Card slot by virtue of the Reds' tiebreaker over the Mets
