This is a big part of why NASCAR was so mad about SRX and why NASCAR wanted teams to give them some power over IP in charter negotiations. Teams using the same IP could lead to confusion in the product. Which I get, but at the same time, that's the team and drivers property to identify themselves.

There's a lot of "This case will destroy the sport" narrative. It is about money. It's about NASCAR is the only one making money. It's about NASCAR not wanting to be partners with those who put on the show. It's about NASCAR not moving on from Jim's father's 1960s union busting. Evolve or die.

Personal lore time: I think this screenshot is from the first time Butterbean and I raced together. February 2015. He finished 27th. But this is probably the closest I've come to winning an oval league race in iRacing. I'm in the 3 and was second in the closing laps. Finished 3rd going for the win.
