That’s one of the most intriguing things about the RSN business drying up. No more guaranteed local TV revenue. It is now going to be based on how compelling your on field product is. And how that changes front office approaches and really the game in general.
If your local TV revenue is based on how many local subs you sell, it REALLY discourages such an approach.
When the Astros had a 0.0 rating for games during their tank, it did not affect their RSN payment by one dollar.
Nowadays, lack of interest means your local TV revenues would plummet.

I've been saying for years that arbitration players should just ask for market rate in arbitration. So, I always watch these closely. Good for him.

I always knew it, but it really sunk in last year as I read through the Bible. The Biblical prophets are the original social justice warriors.
Imagine reading from Genesis to Revelation, about God liberating people time and time again from Egypt to Rome, and somehow arriving at the conclusion that the Bible is to be used to support the power of earthly empires rather than to advocate for the people empires harm.

I ordered something online last night and already they've hit me up with a texts offering me deals for my next purchase. They haven't even shipped my first one yet. I haven't even tried the product yet. Seems like a waste. First time customers should get hit up the day after delivery. Not before.

I learned this first-hand after NC State went to the Final Four. Newspaper execs can no longer process what actually generates revenue/readers/clicks/subscriptions. They only see what things cost.
Sports is expensive … even if investment in sports pays back tenfold.

A #91 prospect for BP. A 19-year-old former first-round pick who hasn't lived up yet. A second-round college bat that needs some work but can play all three outfield spots. And two picks. Feels like a nice haul. I still hate dismantling a team that I didn't feel wasn't that far away.
