Ringing a bell sounds awfully tiring, especially if you're not well.

Could the dog be trained to ring the bell for you?

I have a copy of this, it's very impressive, even on the cursory read I've had so far.

It's the kind of book that makes me wish I had far more spare time than I do for reading and gaming.

Cold City is a taut game of trust and monster hunting in the ruins of an alternate 1950s Berlin.

Ebay is just a pain. I have stuff I ought to clear out but can't face the hassle.

And I've said it before. If you end up totally stuck for somewhere to stay, I have a spare room. And many bookshelves.

Your 400 DVDs can live in a box next to the one with a couple of hundred of mine in it.

My brother is a fanatical Arsenal fan. He has no idea why I smile every time he goes on about "I'll be a gooner till I die!"
cultistofsooty.bsky.social
I had a family member who did that with my record collection.

At least Mum only gave away our toys to the jumble sale or to "that bairn up the road, because they haven't got much".

Mebbe. But he's absolutely nailed them.
cultistofsooty.bsky.social
No, I really do think he's making a good fist of it.

I've got to hand it to you, you really are sticking with this project.

She had some sort of personal assistant job at a company run by one of her parents' friends. It never seemed clear to us that she actually *did* anything at that job.

She was a nice enough person in herself, just very blind to how privileged she was.

In the early 90s, a friend of mine went out with a very posh girl who had a flat in Battersea.

She called it "Buh-tur-see-ah".

And kept complaining how very unfair it was that her parents had only given her £120,000 to buy a flat.

I never really warmed to her.

Sigh. I'll only bring this "accurate" stuff up if all the players are ok with it. And, most importantly, only if we can make it fun for them to subvert, overcome, or work around those prejudices.

Never to use it as a sledgehammer to ruin people's fun.

Especially not in an alt-history!

I once spent 30 mins looking for my door keys. After looking EVERYWHERE, I realised I was idly spinning my keyring round the index finger on my left hand.

I'd picked them up unthinkingly. The last place I was going to look for them was *in my hand*, right?

No idea how long I'd been holding them.

As a frequent user of the ponds, it disgusts me that terfs are taking a beautiful place and pouring their hate into it. Please fill in this survey if you want to protect this space for all women and make trans women feel. PS the ducks think terfs suck. And the friendly fox. And the crows.
sophiemolly.co.uk
The Gender Critical have already inundated this survey with their disgusting views on banning trans people from using the ponds.

Would be a shame if we inundated with trans positive views on not banning trans people.

I can't do DMs here, but we talked on Discord when you kindly sent me zombies.
Drop me a line there with your address and I'll send you all the hands you want.
The weapons ought to be easy to cut away, tbh.

Does anyone have any warhammer giant’s hands going spare?

I need a few of them (as many as possible) for … reasons…

Seriously, if you’ve ever built one and have spare hands on the sure you could sell or give me (skint) that would be fabulous.

I have these. Are they any good to you?
5 spare plastic hands from a Games Workshop Giant wargames model kit. 4 are holding weapons: rocks, tree trunks, etc. 1 is holding an unfortunate person.

My Mum was the same. But insisted on loose tea. No teabags!

Weirdly, our family dog loved tea. But would not drink it if it didn't come from a teapot or poured from a human's cup into his bowl. Making it directly in the bowl with teabags - no. He wouldn't put up with that.

They're a deservedly well regarded shop. Good people.

I didn't buy anything there today. That is not the way of my people.

Richer Sounds is near my company's office. So on my trip to London today, I honoured my Dad.

By popping into Richer Sounds on my way to King's Cross, and having a browse around. I didn't buy anything. It's what Dad would have wanted.

They seem to have some good bargains on speakers, mind you.
cultistofsooty.bsky.social
Today, I also honoured my Dad. When he took us to London as kids, he always browsed around Richer Sounds near London Bridge. I honestly don't remember ever buying anything there when I was with him, but he liked to have a good browse around and consider buying new speakers.

Today would have been my Mum's birthday. My brother and I honoured her, as we do, by having a cup of tea together and also making her one and setting it aside for her.

It had to be in a proper cup and saucer. She didn't like drinking tea from a mug.

It's been 32 years. We still do that every year.

We'd have had to share this one. It was a few folks' worth of rat.

The first office I worked at was right next to Smithfield Meat Market. There were some chonky rats there.

This one rivalled any of them.
