Ed and Stede on the deck of the revenge during Calypso’s Birthday If you ever watched "Flight of the Conchords," you know that Rhys Darby is a welcome addition to just about any project, and he's the ideal person to lead the cast of "Our Flag Means Death," a funny and shockingly sweet pirate comedy created by David Jenkins. Darby's character, Stede Bonnet, was a real historical figure known as the "Gentleman Pirate," and like his real historical counterpart, Darby's Stede is endearingly bad at running a crew of violent, pilfering pirates. Also like the real Stede, the on-screen Stede ends up surrendering his ship, Revenge, to the infamous pirate Blackbeard, played on the show by Taika Waititi; the major liberty the show takes, in all likelihood, is that Stede and Blackbeard fall in love. "Our Flag Means Death" is hilarious, heartfelt, and absolutely delightful series, but unfortunately, the powers that be at HBO decided to end the show's voyage after two seasons on its proprietary streamer HBO Max. Jenkins himself said he planned for the show to span three seasons, and the story does go unfinished after the season 2 finale, so maybe we'll see the Revenge sail again eventually.

Email that reads: I had a very productive week. -I wrote a bunch of really in-depth explicit gay and trans pirate roleplay based off the show our flag means death. It’s quite steamy and brings me joy. -I existed as a trans person despite elons raging hard on for trying to erase me. He probably should do some introspection on what part of his soul corroded away to make room for that hatred. -I’ve donated to trans charities in elons name. I’m not as rich as he is because I have morals and an actual soul; but I was generous. -I’ve gone to New York for a comedy show to meet gay pirates in person from the fandom for the show our flag means death. -I’ve wasted a fascist regimes time by clogging up the system with another email to review. Fuck Elon and his paid puppet president trump. If you hate them too and are reading this I hope you have a fantastic day and you should go watch the show our flag means death because it is queer and full of joy and acceptance.
