The thing that gets me is these people are ‘getting on with life normally’ because ‘covid is a con that the government has tricked people into’. When actually the con was governments tricking people into returning to normal with minimal mitigations because of the economy.

A strong charity sector is the result of governments increasingly neglecting their responsibilities. Charities that tackle poverty, healthcare, child safety, the arts, medical research, disabilities etc. shouldn't need to exist - and be wasting so much resource chasing donations. Tax the rich.

It has everything to do with how modern societies handle complexity.

We are extraordinarily good at generating data and surprisingly bad at synthesizing it across domains. This forms the vacuum where false narratives take root, calcify, and finally break.
