Shocking. Great work ITV but as a committed open water swimmer I am just really sad about this.
A cocktail of almost 500 different chemicals, some of which are banned and almost half of which are classed as "very toxic" or "harmful", have been found in English waters.
One of the substances found was a banned, carcinogenic "forever chemical".

I'm home for a month in rural Ireland and yesterday a woman I know, of quite modest means, said that reading a specific passage of Donal Ryan's novel, The Spinning Heart, gave her the courage to finally walk out on an abusive husband and take her kids.

So yes, books matter. Also, I love Ireland.
