Zipping around Week 13 in college football for @postsports.bsky.social , including updates through the evening games.

Lots and lot and and lots of chalk.
Most of the country’s top teams in action Saturday afternoon were substantial favorites. They all avoided disaster.

Per @stathead.com, Kansas State is the first FBS team to have a player rush for at least 293 yards (as Joe Jackson did against Utah today) and lose since Anthony McFarland had 298 for Maryland in a 52-51 overtime loss to Ohio State on Nov. 17, 2018.

Greetings from the Banks of the Severn.

Squeezing in a little hoops early this afternoon as NJIT (3-2) pays a visit to Alumni Hall to face Navy (2-3).

Finally getting a first look at the Midshipmen, who have acquitted themselves well in losses at Penn State and North Carolina this month.

One minor #MarylandScoringList tidbit after Wednesday: Diggy Coit's 41-point game jumped him 20 spots to 254th. He has 92 points in four games and is unsurprisingly the Terrapins' leading scorer.

Full scoring list updates will resume once someone is getting close to the top 200.

I skimmed over a victory over D-III Saint Mary's (Md.) early in the 2016-17 season.

So it was 22 --- and is now 23 --- victories in a row against in-state competition.
Coming into tonight, Maryland has won 21 consecutive games against in-state opponents (Mount St. Mary's 6, UMES 4, UMBC 3, Coppin/Navy 2 each, Bowie State/Loyola/Morgan/Towson 1 each).

Last loss was Jan. 7, 2009, a 66-65 setback against Morgan State.
November 20, 2025 at 3:02 AM
And that indeed is the last time before that Morgan State game in 2009 that Maryland lost to an in-state opponent.

Terps have won 56 of their last 57 against in-state foes.
buzz having his "gary loses to coppin state" moment
Under-8. Mount St. Mary's 64-58.

It's now a 24-5 run for the Mount. Arlandus Keyes with 15 points (including back-to-back XL 3-pointers) and Trey Deveaux has 13 for Donny Lind's bunch.

Maryland is 1/11 from the field in the last eight-plus minutes.

Elsewhere in the area ... George Washington is just bludgeoning UMBC. Garrett Johnson has 13 points as the Revolutionaries lead 47-17 at halftime.

GW led by 33 at one point.

Greetings from the Queen City of the Paint Branch Drainage Basin.

Maryland (3-1), coming off a victory at Marquette, faces Mount St. Mary's (1-3) at 7 p.m. Mount played Cincinnati tough Sunday before its offense faded in the final 12 minutes.

Terps are 12-0 all-time in the series.

Over at USA Lacrosse Magazine, a look at Virginia's process of sorting out its attack options this fall.

Five significant options for three spots, and Lars Tiffany and Co. probably aren't done tinkering.

Lars Tiffany found himself wondering this fall if one of the answers for Virginia in 2026 might just lie in 2021.

Let's do a little back-of-the-envelope math that goes a long way in explaining this ...
BREAKING NEWS: Maryland will keep Michael Locksley as its football coach in 2026, Athletic Director Jim Smith said.

Smith is committing more NIL funding to the Terrapins program for next year. Says he believes in the foundation.

The Terps have lost six in a row and are 4-6.
